Travel tips: San Fran to L.A? - hostels in san fran
Hey,
My friend and I go to California for 3 weeks in September. We fly to San Francisco and Los Angeles will not go to another, so thought of stopping at certain places along the road. We are 21, so that you are looking for a lively place and protect anywhere.
Has anyone advice on where you go in the middle? If things go well for a few days? And also travel, what is the best way?

Hostels In San Fran Travel Tips: San Fran To L.A?

If you drive from one to another, on Highway 1 along the coast and has an incredible landscape. (I-5 is faster, but it is very annoying, and you should do it if you need to switch from one to another quickly.) Interests:
1) New Year - elephants over here, if they stop migrating, very impressive. Note that these depending on the season and I think are necessary, to book in advance ...
2) Santa Cruz - The city of the beach promenade and superb views. Very relaxing. Walk through a college of great views and 20 somethings to spend time.
3) Monterey and Caramel - 2 hours south of SF. The breathtaking scenery and one of the best aquariums in the world. Punta Lobos, south of Caramel is especially recommended.
4) "Big Sur" - the area south of Monterey is beautiful, with state parks and many excellent views.
5) Hearst Castle - a mansion, by big media magnate Citizen Kane had been built. A must see.
6) San Luis Obispo - pleasant city that is a good place to stopSF on his way to Los Angeles. Take a look at the Madonna Inn.
7) Santa Barbara - the American Riviera.
Then you have need a car to do so (although I take each tour company can arrange something.)
The best way to travel to California for the rail system Amtrak has several routes between the Bay of San Francisco and Los Angeles / Southern California. The Coast Starlight is the secnic and direct, but only 1 event per day, some large North and South are the lines Surfliner Central Pacific Coast with bus service to San Luis Obispo and take the bus from San Joaquin Valley to Bakersfield. Avoid using the Greyhound system, it may due to poor service quality. Good luck!
